The things I wake up thinking
Theory involving reference to upcoming events in Doctor Who canon (waaay in the future, maybe) that are not spoilers, but are based on events that already happened in the old Doctor Who series.

Isn't time travel fun, kiddies?

However, if you don't know anything that happened in the old series, this might be spoilery as hell for hypothetical future seasons of Doctor Who.

Okay, so, the Valeyard. He's split off from the Doctor somehow during the transition from 12th to 13th, right? He's essentially all the grim and dark and vengeful aspects of the Doctor. This split would leave behind Thirteen, who estimably should be a happy, fluffy fun-filled Doctor without a shred of dark in him. And, if he hasn't already been, absolutely must be ginger.

SO, for the 13th Doctor...

Rupert Grint.

Really! If Eleven lasts a couple years, and Twelve a few more beyond that, Rupert would be about the same age as Matt Smith is now. I think he could play a completely dark-free Doctor, and if the story line goes and re-merges the Doctor with the Valeyard and gives him his dark back, he could do that too.

This is just what I woke up thinking this morning. I haven't had coffee yet though, which could explain a lot. :-P

That would be cool!!! Aaaaannnnd...he could be the incarnation of the Dr. that becomes Merlin (from the reference in Battlefield) and that way he could go back to his acting roots and playing a wizard, albeit a very old one!!! :)
Thanks for that off the top of the head idea :)
hugs

Hey!! The kid that's playing Merlin right now in that other series could play the Valeyard! The crossover potential is huuuuuge! XD

Ha! You're not the only one with that thought! I've seen a few other places where someone's mentioned Rupert Grint for the next Doctor.

I'd love to see RG as the next Doc.

Hey, I wonder if we could get a petition going!

Nah, a bit early to petition for 13's casting when we're only on 11.

Ooooo excellent notion, and the kid playing Merlin as well, oh yes. I also had a Doctor Who dream the other night..sheesh.

It's insidious, isn't it. And it's not helping the plot-bunnies get organised at all.

It definitely doesn't. Speaking of bunnies with fangs(hence icon), I have to continue the Dresden one--too much procrastination..lol

Totally, especially with a few more years on him!
