COMICOMMENTARIES

DVD Style comentaries by Sam and Dean about issues of the SPN:Origins comic. These are listed in the order they were written, which is not the order the comics were released, and there's a bit of internal continuity to them that doesn't really relate to the order the comics were published. Graphics heavy and opinionated.

Comicommentary for SPN:Origins Issue #2

Comicommentary for SPN:Origins Issue #4

META AND THEORIES

Supernatural "Big Secret" Theory - From waaaay back. Mostly Kripke'd in the details, but... I think parts of it may still be possible.

Visual Framing in Croatoan - Film Studies-ish analysis of a screen cap from the end of the episode.

Visual Framing in Croatoan - Addendum - An addition to the above to answer a question posed in the comments of the first.

Mini-Meta Something I Noticed in AHBL 1 - Also something everyone else noticed, but I was pretty much in spoiler-phobe lockdown when I wrote it, and hadn't seen it being pointed out by everybody else.

Never Forget a Familiar Face: Wrist-borne timepieces in Supernatural - A picspammy analysis of watches, who has and doesn't have them, and how Dean might have recognized Ash's Watch in AHBL 1.

Thoughts about Bobby post-BUABS

Predictions for Season 3 - No spoilers because I don't do spoilers. Just a listing of what I think might happen in Season three, so I have a post to point to and go "See, I was right!" or "OMG, I was a total idiot."

Brief theory posted after 3.01 about the role of a particular character. Has so far been confirmed by events in the series o.O

ICONS, ART AND GRAPHICS

Icon Post - 17 Icons, some animated. Promo shots, episodes 2.01 through 2.04, and Padalecki dancing.

A few Usual Suspect icons and stuff - 8 Usual Suspect Icons, some animated, and some bigger stuff.

Not Out of the Woods Yet - A combined photo image, approximating Sam and Dean in 2001, saving some random kid from lurking monsters.

4 BUABS Icons

WIAWSNB Wallpaper - Experimental wallpaper from "What Is and What Should Never Be".

Giant Icon Backlog - 48 assorted Icons, 90% Supernatural-related

REVIEWS AND REACTIONS:

3.07 - Fresh Blood
3.08 - A Very Supernatural Christmas

BOOKS, COMICS, TIE-INS

SPN REACTION: Supernatural: Origins #1 - Not a Comicommentary, just a reaction, though if I ever do manage to put together a commentary for the first issue, it will contain a lot of the same reactions.

SPN Book Review and Poll: Nevermore - Huge 4000 word review of Nevermore, with a poll at the end.

TEN INCH HERO - Film with Jensen Ackles in it which has not been generally released yet.

My Ten Inch Hero experience

Review of Jensen Ackles' Performance in Ten Inch Hero - Mildly thematically spoilery for Ten Inch Hero

...OTHER

Forbidden Plateau Investigation - NON-FICTION. A chatty Winchester-style investigation into a local legend, with crappy photos.

SPN Audio: The Simulatination Project - AUDIO. A very short merged soundfile of Sam and Dean doing the first part of the latin exorcism.

The Week After Christmas - FANDOM POETRY? Kind of? It's a poem based on "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" about fans being grumpy about all the hiatuses and lack of repeats during the second season back when the "big secret" was still unknown.

Article from local paper about guy that played Max Miller (Nightmare) - NEWSPAPER SCAN. Scanned article from local paper about the actor winning a Gemini Award.

"It’s Beginning to Feel a Lot like Thursday!" - Lyrics and Audio - FILK. Awkward lyrics to the horribly mangled tune of "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."

SECRETPOSTS - General idea is they are anonymous postcards from the characters, sharing secrets of some kind.

2 Secretpost cards
Icky Secretpost card

DREAMS - Written up and posted because every once in a while, I dream in pure crack.

SPN Dream: Watching the Winchesters - DREAM. Adventures in subconcious babysitting. Featuring Zombie bees and Missouri on a bender.

SPN Dream: Sam and Dean Vs... - DREAM. Oh, no. They say he's got to go. But first, the maypole dancing.

SPN Dream: The first one, with the orange juice - The one that made me aware that I was a fan of the show. And that I should drink more orange juice so I can be more effective at fighting the evil ghosts. Yes indeedy. *nods sagely*

Comic commentary

Okay, it is official Supernatural:Origins achieved the (coveted?!?) X-Cat Couldn't Have Been Worse If They Tried rating. The best part was your commentaries - please consider doing the same for the 4 other issues so I can include transcripts of them with my comic book copies (which I still can't believe I PAID money for - talk about being owned by a TV series) and try to salvage what is left of my self respect. Also on the can I be more pathetic & haven't I learned my lesson yet front - have you seen Supernatural:Rising Son? New artist, at least... it really can't be worse right??? Maybe the demon responsible for the first series has been destroyed or at least banished to hell... I would love to read your opinion on it or have you sworn off comics for life?

Re: Comic commentary

I'm slowly working on #1, and intend to do them all, but life landed me with the work schedule from hell recently (150 hours work in 13 days, no days off til today) so I havn't had much time between that and everything else I'm working on. I also still haven't read 5 or 6 of Origins. From what limited reports I've heard #1 of the new series isn't horrible, but I haven't seen that yet either.

Anyway, thank you very much for letting me know you're still interested in further Origins Comicommentaries, I was just wondering whether anyone still would be considering the new series is out.

Re: Comic commentary

Haven't read 5 or 6 huh? Maybe you should check with your doctor first - do you have apoplexy risk factors? They really should have put a warning on the front cover about that, fans could die. Oh, and on the rewrite front - the lying liars who lie have not fixed the glaring canon errors in the graphic novel re issue either. So not only do you not have to worry about your Comicommentaries needing to be revised, but you may find them to be even more popular with the next wave of suckers er I mean fans.
