Random prompts anyone?
I have a nifty book called "The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook". I realized while looking something up tonight that most of it makes for great fic prompts. So, if anyone wants an entirely random prompt that ranges from mortal danger to extreme crack, here's what to do:

Comment with a number (or a few (Maximum of five) numbers if you want options) between 24 and 507, and I'll let you know what the subject of that page is. Or if you have access to a copy, look it up yourself. What you do with what you get is entirely up to you.

Any takers?

No promises on getting anything accomplished with it, but . . . let's go with 194, 238, 96, 70, and 506.

Yeah, I picked five. I LIKE OPTIONS.

*chortles evilly*

194. "How to survive if you are buried alive"

238. "How to vomit correctly." (No. Really.)

96. The tail end of "How to jump rooftop to rooftop"

70. "How to escape from a bear."

506. The "There is no Santa Claus" speech.

Bonus points if you use them all in the same fic?

Oh man, said fic would be EPIC.

We'll see what I manage to come up with.

I am going to match these up with my still open snapshots prompts so I think this will become crack.

I take uhm 24, 58, 99, 106, 180, 236 and 333 and please 2 barrels of spare time.

I knew I should've set an upper limit of five. Doing that now.

24. How to fend off a shark

58. How to fend off a charging reindeer

99. How to jump from a moving train.

106. How to survive if your parachute fails to open.

180. How to sneak out of a meeting.

236. How to cure insomnia.

333. How to get a job you're not qualified for: Shoe salesperson.

No free time available, I'm afraid.

caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: September 16th, 2010 03:43 pm (UTC) (Link)
190. Ooo. "How to survive if trapped in the workplace" Subsection: "In a lion cage - If the lion is not immediately visible."

420. How to survive baby-gear overload

310. How to repair a dropped cake. (Wedding cake in the book)
bubblesbrnaid From: bubblesbrnaid Date: September 16th, 2010 03:51 pm (UTC) (Link)
The sad part? I already know how to repair cakes. My mother used to make wedding cakes on the side and I was the poor schmuck who ended up stuck in the back seat making sure the damn things didn't shift during transport. :)

190. Any workplace, or specifically one I've been employed at? :)
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: September 16th, 2010 04:57 pm (UTC) (Link)
Entirely up to you. Real or metaphorical lion cage and who you want in there as bait/distraction, also up to you. ;-)

Still doing this? Um: 157, 26, 87, 159, 30
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: September 28th, 2010 03:06 pm (UTC) (Link)
Sure, why not!

157: How to escape from a sinking car (Sub section; How to avoid breaking through the ice)

26: How to fend off a shark (Sub section; Three kinds of shark attacks - "Hit and Run", "Bump and bite" and"Sneak")

87: How to treat a scorpion sting

159: How to escape from the trunk of a car

30: How to escape from a giant octopus.

Those actually all almost fit together naturally, if you leave out the ice part and have the scorpion on the beach. Someone's having a bad day at the seaside. XD
