Disaster Kitchen: The weather today is cinnamon.
I have a load of spices that I frequently use, but they're all in bulk bags and ziplock bags, so I decided to get some jars to put the spices in like I was an adult that actually had a clue what I was doing. However...

Never attempt to pour any light powder from a wide bag into a narrow jar freehand while standing beside a box-fan blowing at high speed unless you actually do want to have a spice hurricane.

You'd think that not doing something like that would be a no-brainer but evidently in the kitchen I have no brain, the proof of this being that the down-wind part of my kitchen is now coated in a light dusting of cinnamon. At least it wasn't the garlic powder. Or the cayenne.

Does smell nice. Not too cool to breathe at first, though.

Heh! I grew up living near a spice factory, and some days the weather pretty much was cinnamon. :D

I grew up next to a large commercial dairy farm, so cinnamon weather seems much more pleasant.

Of all the spices that could have been blown around your kitchen, cinnamon is probably the best.

I use a small plastic funnel to transfer spices, and we are very glad to have it!

Yeah, a funnel would have been a really good idea.

Mmmm cinnamon (but unfortunately winds for your kitchen).

I got most of it cleaned up but it took til after 2 AM last night. Now of course I'm trying to bake bread and the kitchen is a disaster again. Bah.

Well, I hope the bread turns out:) Having jalapeno poppers for dinner, then watching Japanese horror movies. Possibly writing, who knows.

It turned out like starch bricks. Could have gone worse, but I wouldn't inflict it on anyone I liked.
