The radio station has finally gotten back to me about that song they played this weekend. It's a relatively new one from a (currently Vancouver-based!) Canadian band "Econoline Crush" called 'Dirty'.
In my usual morning pre-caffeine fog bank it sounded really close, but it's definitely not right. It goes up where the other goes down. Also, it's not classic rock and the band is listed on wikipedia as "Industrial metal/Alternative metal/Post-grunge/Alternative rock" so using it as Dean's ringtone would have given Kripke hives or fits or something. :-P
But am I totally delusional here, or does it not sound close at first listen? And see what I mean about the horndoggyness?
It does seem close! LOL, yes - the horndoggyness is apparent. Maybe I just see SPN in everything, but the whole 'little black dress' thing reminded me of the crossroads demon, and at the end of the vid when the guy gets into what seems to be some kind of classic car, I sort of did a mini-squee!
Right in the last like 15 seconds, the guy - that The Girl just finished with - gets into a car, and it's shot from like the passenger's footspace. The reason I think it's a classic is the steering wheel, it's that kind of look. Wow, I have just way over-analyzed this! >.> I see SPN everywhere...
Yes, yes, I can see how you could mistake them... Like the song (and the vid) but it does make me giggle at the idea of Dean confronting the singer, who has make-up :P
Well, yeah, because there's a whole different level of make-up between none and, say, a group like "KISS" with the full-on cat-faces and such-like. Anything in between is not fully committed, and wishy-washy. Or something. *nods... vaguely*
Ok, point taken, but that's emo eye-liner make up!!
Maybe it just makes me giggle because I've seen people making icons and manips of the Winchesters with eye-liner and it never fails to give me a *wha-?* moment
(Gen) Season 3 post 3.12 Dean (fated, not dark, not empowered), approaching his crossroads due date, fighting to save a rapidly darkening (empowered, but not overtly so yet) Sam from himself, stuck alone in some dire, hopeless-seeming situation, suddenly remembers writing his own epitaph in high school. ;-)
yes it does sound very much like Dean's ringtone... Im going to say its those couple notes in the Econoline Crush (i didnt know they were Canadian!!) song that couple of notes that are relativly close together repeating before they go up to a higher note is very much like middle-ish section of Dean's ringto
