Okay. Wow.

So... this is an extremely long and freaky 'no crap, there I was,' post.

What an interesting night I've had tonight...

...all 100% absolutely true. Especially the swearing. This was what happened tonight at work.

Now, I'm not saying it was a ghost or that it wasn't a ghost, just that it was extremely weird and freaky. Also, that after a crazy-long workday and 52 hours into a 60-plus hour work week, my brain's grip on reality is slipperier than a soapy snake. :-P

(A little early perhaps, but I've been hearing good things about this thing called 'sleep' and I thought I'd try and get me some. ;-P)

I altered my usual Thursday icon a teeny bit in honor of the CW growing half a brain caving to our demands being gracious enough to let us have Supernatural repeats back. About freaking time. It feels like this is going to be the first Thursday since the 21st of February and it's just been one long endless week since then.

Some of you might remember the summary I posted a while back of the guaranteed never to exist Supernatural Musical Episode, as pondered upon by spndpfrdcrck. And also that I said at the end, anyone who wants to take a shot at actually writing it or anything within it is welcome to do so, and on way more crack than I am?

Well, apparently kriptkeeper is on a metric ton more crack than me, because she's started writing it. The whole thing. And she's never written Supernatural fanfic before. And chapter one is hilarious!

It's over on her journal and it's called Pirates of Pineridge. And it is made of crack. Go see! :-D

The radio station has finally gotten back to me about that song they played this weekend. It's a relatively new one from a (currently Vancouver-based!) Canadian band "Econoline Crush" called 'Dirty'.

Listening to Dean's ringtone heard at the end of this handy vid of Season 2 Music (starting at about 7:53) and then the opening to the song I heard it's.... definitely not the same.

In my usual morning pre-caffeine fog bank it sounded really close, but it's definitely not right. It goes up where the other goes down. Also, it's not classic rock and the band is listed on wikipedia as "Industrial metal/Alternative metal/Post-grunge/Alternative rock" so using it as Dean's ringtone would have given Kripke hives or fits or something. :-P

But am I totally delusional here, or does it not sound close at first listen? And see what I mean about the horndoggyness?

There was a song on the local radio station this morning that they did not identify, and the opening of it sounded damned close to Dean's season 2 ringtone. Now, while waking up and going, "Dean, answer your damn phone" is a fine way to wake up (beats all hell out of waking up because blond Trollie dolls are coming in through the bedroom window, like yesterday morning :-P) the song is now driving me nuts.

I've googled every bit of lyric I caught, and it's not showing up. I don't even know if it's from the right era for Dean, but it sounded a lot closer than "Supermassive Black Hole" or any other suggestion I've heard does.

So, for any google-fu blackbelts looking for a challenge, or any music nuts, here's all I know:

-Opening sounds a lot like Dean's season 2 ringtone, heavy guitar
-Lyrics include: "lay of the land" "little black dress" "walk the walk"
-Theme of the song seemed to be quite horndoggy and girl-chasey and could see why Dean might pick it ;-P
-Male vocalist, did not notice any background singing (but really, I was half-awake and just glad not to have to fight off the Trollies again)
-Suitable for airplay on a small Canadian city 'Rock' genre radio station at 7:10 AM on a long weekend Saturday morning.
-No idea what era, could be classic, could be newer.

Anyone got any ideas?
