SPN POLL: Reactions to the "Big Secret" - CaffieneKittySpace

SPN POLL: Reactions to the "Big Secret"
Taking a moment before "Hunted" airs in my time zone to set up a poll. The poll options are not even remotely spoily, because I don't know the Big Secret yet myself, though I will in 1.25 hours.

Never done a poll before, I really hope I haven't messed it up, but I suspect I have...

Poll #905188 Reactions to the "Big Secret"

What's your reaction to the "Big Secret"? (Choose all that apply and add any reaction you have to your comments.)

Awesome! Perfect! Fantastic! Wonderful!
Well, at least now we know what it is...
Oh crap, they've just totally destroyed my show!
Hunh??? That's it???
Meh. I saw it coming ages ago. Predictable.
Oh wow! I never even suspected that possibility! Total shock!
Not worth the build up at all. A let down, really.
Worth every single 'SOON' and cliffhanger!
Ooo! Interesting plot possibilities!
I live in abject dread terror of the future plotlines that will spring from this...

I saw it ages ago - and called it. Hell anyone from season 1 could have.

Kripke you Bastard simply because THAT's IT?! You build this up for half a season and THAT'S IT?! Bitch.

Oh totally. But looking at it, it's so very in character for what John would tell Dean. What he needs to do, not why. I simultaneously want to strangle Kripke and... well... strangle him some more really. :-D

I agree. I figured Sam might go evil and Dean would have to kill him. But I thought the episode in its entirety was really great.

Yeah, I think there's even more going on that Dean knows and isn't telling. Something about Mary maybe. (I don't know, I'm not spoiled--just speculating.)

I don't know... Dean seemed pretty wrung out at that point. I don't get the sense that there's anything more John told him that he's holding back from Sam. What he might be theorizing or learning on his own now...?

Weren't they freaking glorious in that scene, though! *flails*

And I'm not spoiled either, but I think you're right about Mary

We'll just have to see about Dean...maybe he did finally let everything out. Maybe I'm just hoping for my own sake that there's *something* else that John knew and passed on. From what Yellow Eyes said in the hospital basement, there had to be something. "The truth about Sammy" cannot just mean "he might go evil" because that's just DUH. :)

And yes, they were freaking glorious. JA never disappoints me, and JP has improved so much over the last year that the two of them are just brilliant together.

More that John knew, absolutely. More that John passed on, doubtful. John telling Dean just 'You have to save Sam, or if you can't you have to kill him" is just so very John. An order with no explanation. John all the way to the end.

Anyway, that's what I think :-) Now it's up to Dean and Sam to try and figure out what's going on.

Oh, I do so try to like John.

You're not helping. :)

Oh, I like John. Love him even, sometimes. This doesn't mean he isn't still a total ass. *grin*

Eh, the secret didn't tell us anything we didn't already suspect. It didn't even really tell us anything new about Sam. I think it would have been more effective had we known the secret from the start -- it would have punched up the drama in several of the episodes from the first half of the season.

The true fascination of the whole "What did John tell Dean?" thing was watching Dean dealing and not dealing with keeping it from Sam, and the future fascination will be in the ramifications of how Sam views Dean and himself because of it and what they both do as a result of that. The secret itself is kind of a McGuffin when you get right down to it. Important primarily in how the characters react to it... I think anyway. :-)
