Dream: Random Fandom Scramble
Okay, I don't have a clear recall of this dream because I was woken up before the memory could 'set' but it was full of crack from what I remember.

Point form notes from a dream involving Supernatural, Torchwood, Hot Fuzz, and Thin Blue Line:

-Castiel was in a top hat and tails, tap-dancing to various show tunes in the streets of London. Actually around Piccadilly Circus, I think. There was a fountain that looked kind of like a wedding cake. He looked like he was having a wonderful time, but couldn't stop.

-Nicholas Angel (Hot Fuzz) was reassigned to the 'Thin Blue Line' police station and was BFF's with Rowan Atkinson's character. Constable Habib hated him and shouted about it a lot.

-Danny Butterworth (Hot Fuzz) was in some way, drafted into Torchwood. He rode around on Myfanwy (Torchwood pterodactyl) yelling "How's that for a slice of fried gold?" Everyone seemed mildly confused by this.

-Either Castiel's dancing was causing Rift activity or caused by Rift activity, along with a rash of shoplifting and people being pushed down stairs for no apparent reason.

-There was a massive very confusing investigation involving everyone, wherein everything turned out to be tied to angels: the angel statue on the fountain, Castiel being an angel, the Hot Fuzz character having the last name of Angel, and pterodactyls actually being some kind of prehistoric angel.

-The Rift was also unstable and randomly firing coleslaw and jelly beans at people.

*shrug* I have no idea.

I'd like to dream this, plzkthx. :D

I dreamt -- but was unfortunately woken by my cats-- the start of an episode of SPN but with everything in claymation. It was fabulous. Alas, I don't remember anything beyond that fact, and a very strange car. And something about a little girl's goldfish. Also, y'know, in claymation. :D

Sam and Dean weren't on the Heart of Gold by any chance?

Haha! Awesome, but alas, no, not as far as I can recall. :D

He really did seem to be having fun, which kind of made it extra disturbing.

Heee! Gumby and Pokey claymation or Wallace and Gromit claymation?

While I suppose Gumby/Pokey claymation would have been more appopriate, ala "The Kids are Alright" and "Yellow Fever," it was closer to Wallace and Gromit style. I suspect my subconscious was affected by the current style of You + Me: Dream, which, while not *animated*, is currently made of clay. That's, at least, my guess.

Either way, it totally makes me want to be able to sculpt in clay. :( Since I can't, I do think I'm going to pick up my crochet hook for the first time in a few weeks when I go to flurije's house tomorrow to watch more of SPN season 3, in the hopes of either fixing Mary's head (so that she is no longer AMAZON QUEEN MARY WINCHESTER, which she currently is, or starting the YED. Whee.

(I really really want an episode of SPN in clay now.) Or a musical episode with Castiel doing show tunes in Picadilly Circus.

Maybe if they get renewed through Season 10 and Kripke unleashes the crack-monkeys :-)

Heh. I'm one of the people who are all for a season 6, but yeahhh, a season 10 with crack-monkeys-- unless there are actual monkeys-- is beyond even what I'm looking for. :D

I agree with Kripke's reasons for wanting to limit the series run, (although if I'm right about where he's going with next season it could be stretched into two seasons so a season 6 wouldn't be unreasonalble) but the CW seems to me to be the kind of network to try to milk a cash cow until there's nothing left but beef jerky. See Smallville. *koff*

I am choosing my words very carefully here, just so you know. :) I r gud intweb frend.

I agree with Kripke's reasons for wanting to limit the series run,
Interviews suggest that his reasons aren't as noble as one might think, or as based in storytelling. That said, the benefits to *not* stringing things out crazily, ala Lost, are certainly worthwhile.

(although if I'm right about where he's going with next season it could be stretched into two seasons so a season 6 wouldn't be unreasonalble)
No comment re: season 5.

Also, I've seen some very creative non-spoilered speculation about potential stories for season 6 which seemed fantastic to me.

but the CW seems to me to be the kind of network to try to milk a cash cow until there's nothing left but beef jerky. See Smallville. *koff*
First, I adore your phrasing-- heee. Second, absolutely. Now, the question of whether there will *be* a CW any given year is also up in the air... I advocate for a 6th season. I am not looking for the show to be run into the ground past its storytelling capacity. The CW and Dawn Ostroff... yeah... You've certainly described them. The good news there though is the actors' 6 year contracts.

Edited for clarification. Can I blame the headache for poor communication? :)

lol! I rather like the idea of Castiel's dancing being caused by rift activity. Never know what that rift could do.

And the Rift tossing coleslaw and jelly beans at people! That's soo funny! I pictured Jack picking up some of the jelly beans and eating them. Then falling over dead. When he revives he says maybe they had better advise people not to eat the jelly beans.

I don't watch Hot Fuzz or Thin Blue Line, but I love that image of someone riding Myfanwy.

I'd say go for it, if you want. We all need a little crack in our lives now and then.

pterodactyls actually being some kind of prehistoric angel.

Out of all of it this one made me LOL the most! Now, that's why angels in their true forms can be... uh, daunting to look at and comprehend!

It's not the light that burns out your eyes or the voice that melts your eardrums so much as the enormous leathery wings and the 8 inch long talons.

I am so jealous! Do you know what I dreamed about last night? ORGANISING A CHURCH SERVICE!!! Discussing prayers with one of my Elders and working out which week of the church year we are in. That was what my brain wasted time doing when I could have been having fandom-related dreams.

*goes away to pout and sulk*

Try having jalapeno monterey jack on vegetable thins as a late-night snack? ;-)

Holy crap, that is an amazing dream! *glee*

Castiel was in a top hat and tails, tap-dancing to various show tunes in the streets of London. <-- I want to see this so bad. Castiel would be a weird tap dancer, with his complete lack of expression. :D

Also? Hot Fuzz dreams FTW. *nods*
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: August 30th, 2009 07:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
That was really unexpected. I've only watched that movie a few times and I didn't think it had permeated my subconcious.
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: August 30th, 2009 06:59 pm (UTC) (Link)
That was what was so freaky about it, he wasn't without expression at all, he was smiling and grinning and winking. Like Danny Kaye in White Christmas or something.
teithiwr From: teithiwr Date: August 30th, 2009 07:04 pm (UTC) (Link)
Okay, that really is freaky. O__o

I love your brain, really I do. I always dream about serial killers, or something high fantasy, but you--much better:) I can sooo picture the dancing, oh my, yes:)
