SPN ...thing: Supernatural Episode Mash-ups
Title: Supernatural Episode Mash-ups
Warnings/Rating: GEN, PG. Spoilers to the end of Season 4. (Post itself is Safe for Australia, but comments might not be). Not exactly fic. AU??? o.O Definitely crack. Possible splorf warning.
Word Count: not many
Disclaimer: Only the insanity is mine.
A/N: Okay, this is pure crack. I was randomly pondering Supernatural episodes at work (as one does) and mis-thought an episode title, mixing two titles up. I giggled, corrected myself, and had a side ponder of what the resulting mixed-up episode would be like. And what other titles could be mixed up and what those episodes would be like. Aaaaaand there went the afternoon. *facepalm* Some summaries are related to the actual episodes, some are totally random. [LJ-Only]

('Born Under a Bad Sign' plus 'Bad Day at Black Rock' equals...)
Born Under a Black Rock:

Sam disappears for nearly a month. After a random phone call that their father's heretofore unknown storage unit has been broken into, Dean goes there and finds Sam inside, dazed and clutching a rabbit's foot. Sam claims to have no memory of where he's been for the last several weeks, but as the evidence unfolds and more dehydrated carrots are found, it is revealed that Sam has actually been possessed by the ghost of Bunnicula. Who subsequently beats the crap out of Dean for not eating his veggies.

-

('Dead Man's Blood' plus 'Bugs' equals...)
Dead Man's Bugs:

During a case involving insect-controlling vampires, the Winchesters cross paths with vacationing CSI Entomology expert Gil Grissom. Hijinx and daddy issues ensue.

-

('The Kids Are Alright' plus 'Ghostfacers' equals...)
The Kids Are All Ghostfacers:

In a small town in Indiana, Ed Zeddmore and Harry Spengler's ghost-hunting reality show is wildly popular with the 8-to-14-year-old set. Sam and Dean discover this when they try to work a case in the town and find gangs of kids everywhere they go, all of them waving around store-bought EMF meters, talking into each other's camera phones and singing that damn theme song. Can the Winchesters solve the case before any of the wanna-be mini-Ghostfacers get their fool selves killed?

-

('Children shouldn't Play With Dead Things' plus 'Playthings' equals...)
Children Shouldn't Play with Playthings:

The Winchesters go to a picturesque supposedly-haunted Bed and Breakfast, and discover that someone there has managed to raise a zombie version of their own inner child. Said outer-inner-zombie-child is now getting back at the world for being raised in a B&B and never being allowed to jump on the furniture or play like a normal kid by forcing anyone who stays there to play until they drop dead of exhaustion. Music in this episode: "Hotel California" and "Creepy Doll"

-

('It's a Terrible Life' plus 'On the Head of a Pin' equals...)
It's a Terrible Life On the Head of a Pin:

A one-hour sitcom-style episode on just how much it sucks to be an angel. Set in Heaven. Starring Castiel, with Uriel as his quirky yet secretly evil neighbor, Zachariah as Castiel's jerk of an office supervisor and Anna as Castiel's former.... something. No one's sure exactly what.

-

('Criss Angel is a Douchebag' plus 'Wendigo' equals...)
Criss Angel is a Wendigo:

Las Vegas PD has noticed a few too many magician's helpers are going missing at a stage magic festival. Former crossover guest Gil Grissom has a suspicion it's not the CSI's kind of gig and calls in the Winchesters. After stringent investigation involving show-girls, feathers and sequins, the Winchesters discover that the star of the extravaganza, Criss Angel, is in actuality an urbanized Wendigo (which explains how he survived a few of his tricks, maybe), and he has been eating assistants and audience volunteers. (It's Vegas; he's surprised anyone noticed.) Contains 19 occurrences or variations upon the word "Wendigo"

-

('Dream a Little Dream of Me' plus 'Lazarus Rising' equals...)
Dream a Little Dream of Lazarus Rising

In the season 4 opener, Dean comes back from Hell and rescues Sammy from Ruby's clutches. Then with his brother and their shiny new angel sidekick at his side, he kills Lilith, stops the Apocalypse and makes the world a happy fluffy sunshiny place full of free beer, rock music and nymphomaniacs. Then he wakes up, still in Hell. Dean swears vengeance (again, some more) on Lilith and fandom bays for Kripke's blood.

-

('Everybody Loves a Clown' plus 'Bloody Mary' equals...)
Everybody Loves a Bloody Mary:

The Winchesters and assorted other familiar characters spend the entire episode getting hosed on vodka and tomato juice cocktails and discussing their deepest and most ridiculous childhood fears.

I love them all, but THIS is the one I want to see:

It's a Terrible Life On the Head of a Pin:
A one-hour sitcom-style episode on just how much it sucks to be an angel. Set in Heaven. Starring Castiel, with Uriel as his quirky yet secretly evil neighbor, Zachariah as Castiel's jerk of an office supervisor and Anna as Castiel's former.... something. No one's sure exactly what.

Gil Grissom is just weird enough to believe that the Winchesters are on the level, I think. Although bugs engaging in unnatural behaviours would go a long way toward convincing him.

I seriously just had the BEST laughing jag at these. Spectacular! This especially is gold, "Contains 19 occurrences or variations upon the word "Wendigo"".

I'm going to the casting call for Everybody Loves a Bloody Mary.

*snerk*

Although now an evil little part of me really wants to see what Grissom would make of the boys.

I've seen a CSI crossover or two running around in the wilds of fanfic, but I haven't read any.

I usually don't put up a splorf warning because I don't like to assume things I think are sort of choke-on-things hilarious will be that funny to other people, but if you don't read the warnings then it's your own look out. ^.^

O.o

Any chance we could actually get these made? They're Awesome!
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: September 24th, 2009 03:51 pm (UTC) (Link)
You'd have to ask Kripke. If he does a season 6 he'll probably be looking for a few crack-laden episodes.

Bunnicula! Yay! And these are hilarious!
caffienekitty From: caffienekitty Date: September 24th, 2009 04:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thanks! :-) Bunnicula is under-referenced in this fandom, all things considered.

You'd have to ask Kripke. Or, you know, pick one and write it yourself ;-D

*gleeeeee*
These are wonderful, love! They're like dehydrated ficlets, just add water!

I would love nothing more than to write one or two of these, but writing anything seems nigh on impossible atm...
