Recs: Sherlock Recs
Not as much time for reading this week. :-/

FIC

GEN

When the Bough Breaks by alice_day
Summary: Sherlock finds himself playing unwilling babysitter to a blond, blue-eyed baby who bears a striking resemblance to a certain doctor...
(Crack. And de-aging. And things unquantifiable. And the amazing art by sadynax that inspired it.)

'SQUINT'*

A Study in Kidnapping by dakfinv
Summary: Moriarty kidnaps John. John's not too happy about it.
(Ow. OW. Owwwwwww!)

The Extremely Important Acquisition of Hugs by smallbutevil
Prompt: Sherlock finds that, for whatever reason, he really likes hugs and craves them intensely. But he can't let people know that, it just wouldn't do. So, with his genius brain at his disposal, he commences to try getting stealth hugs off of everyone.
(Some of Sherlock's 'stealth' methods are less stealthy than others. Some are rather loud actually.)

*Squint = If you look at it one way, it's plain Gen, if you squint, you might see slash or pre-slash.

PRE-SLASH

Let You Kiss Me (So Sweet and So Soft) by out_there on DW
Summary: The first time Sherlock kisses him, John keeps his eyes open, and so does Sherlock, and mostly, he wonders what Sherlock could possibly be up to. There'll be some logic to this. Some ridiculous experiment about body warmth or respiratory rates or testing a new way of picking pockets. Sherlock does the unimaginable for bizarre reasons, but behind it, there's always logic and curiosity. Sometimes, it just takes him a while to explain it to John.
(Rating: PG. In which there is quite a lot of confusion and assumption, but they all figure it out in the end.)

SLASH

A Study in Sexuality - Part 1 and Part 2 by jupiter_ash
Summary: What if John is straight, totally straight, so straight that he’d never even consider another man? What would happen if he found himself falling for Sherlock?
(Author Rating: R/NC-17. First time fic. I didn't read this fic at first because I read the summary and foolishly assumed things. I should never ever assume. I don't have the words to accurately summarize this fic.)

The Plan by blind_author
Summary: John had a plan, and its name was Get Some Sex. And the capitals were most certainly necessary.
(Author rating: 15+ First time fic. Maybe a bit cracky, or maybe just a bit silly.)

The Death and Resurrection of the English Language - Part 1 and Part 2 by wordstrings
SUMMARY: Sherlock Holmes has recently grown aware that the problem must be one of language. He and John Watson clearly speak different versions of English. Must do. It's the only logical explanation.
(Author Rating: NC-17. First time fic. Part of the label of this bookmark is "REC THIS YOU CHICKEN." So I'm reccing it. This fic is extraordinary.)

OTHER THAN FIC

VID

Get Your Coat by humansrsuperior
Description: It's all about The Coat.
(Sherlock's coat plus swing music equals much yay.)

Whole New Way by mresundance
Summary: Holmes/Watson/Fandom. Epic romance since 1887.
(Very cool vid involving the Ritchie Movie and ACD Original as well as BBC and fandom.)

If you've seen something amazing that you think more people in the Sherlock fandom should have the chance to enjoy, please rec it at the main Sunday Recday post at sherlockbbc.

There's a sequel to A Study in Kidnapping called A Study in Rescuing (I'm pretty sure? I mean, I know it exists, I'm pretty sure that's the name. LOL)

Happily wandering through your recs of late. Thanks, hon! I never know where to start without recs. :)

Thank you very much for the rec! Right, that's given me the motivation I needed to edit some of my awful unpolished thing-a-majigs, now. I hate editing, but the fact you liked something I wrote enough to rec it is enough to make my Inner Editor start a-crackin' that whip :)
