2012 Fanfic Round-up
Posting this now because I'm unlikely to write anything else before midnight. I coded this last night, and I'm trying to settle down enough to stop dithering before heading out so I don't forget anything terribly vital.

Here are all the stories I've posted in 2012, listed in chronological order of posting.

SHERLOCK - Mustering Out - [Gen, PG13] It's not the combat that wakes him, it's his expulsion from it.

SHERLOCK - Spiral - [Gen, PG13] Missing scene for near the end of 2.03, John angst.

CABIN PRESSURE - Arthur Shappey - It Gets Better - [Gen PG13] Arthur, who was picked on as a kid, does an It Gets Better video.

SHERLOCK - Sherlock, the RPG - [Gen PG13] A climactic scene from "A Study in Pink" as part of a tabletop role-playing game held in Steve's North American basement.

CABIN PRESSURE - Inuksuk - [Gen PG13] Martin has always struggled with his identity. No one realizes just how much. (Severe crack with a quasi-mythology hat on.)

SUPERNATURAL - Classification - other - [Gen PG13] Sam and Dean on a Sharktopus hunt, sometime in Season 2.

AVENGERS - The Tactical Applications of Caramel Apples and Ring-Tailed Lemurs - [Gen PG13] Loki de-ages Captain America. This is not the best idea he's ever had, but he can work with it.

CABIN PRESSURE - The Element of Surprise - [Gen PG13] Any meal of Arthur's involving the word "surprise" should be avoided.

AVENGERS/CABIN PRESSURE - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - [Gen PG13] S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury is looking for people with unique skills, but perhaps not quite as unique as MJN Flight Attendant Arthur Shappey.

CABIN PRESSURE - You're Always Playing... - [Gen PG13] Travelling all over the world as they do, they were bound to notice sometime.

SHERLOCK - When the Storm is Done - [Gen PG13] Some things can't be washed away by rain.

CABIN PRESSURE - On Rusted Steed He Rode - [Gen PG13] Martin helps one of his Parkside Terrace housemates, with an assist from Douglas.

SHERLOCK - Sherlock, the RPG - The Round with the Hound - [Gen PG13] Several scenes from "The Hounds of Baskerville" as part of a tabletop role-playing game held in Steve's Mark's North American basement.

SHERLOCK - Blackout Days - [Gen PG13] Sometimes the only way to cope with something is not to cope with it at all.

SHERLOCK - December 14th Blog - [Gen PG13] John's first blog post here. Scroll to the bottom.

Numbers Breakdown:

15 entries under "Fanfic" tag:

2 Avengers
6 Cabin Pressure
7 Sherlock
1 Supernatural

Less fic, but more variety and two new fandoms represented to some degree. I'm not counting Sharktopus, because it's Sharktopus. Also a lot of sad and angst. It's been that kind of year.

Total word count in 2012:

15,000 (plus a few anon things on memes) This year has not been a good one for me in many respects, and I'm actually surprised I posted that much fiction. I thought it might not have broken 10K.

List of the top 15 most Favorited stories of the ones I have mirrored over at Fanfiction.net.

It Takes A Village
The Simple Joys of Home
Where Monsters Fear to Roam
Write or Die, Moriarty Mode
A Restless Pillow
Why Sam is Taller than Dean
Newer Every Day
Laundry Day
Rituals of the Road
The Toaster Incident
Building Dean Van Halen</a>
Petty Erosion
The Improbably Horrible One
Conversations / Have It Your Way (tie)

This has not been a year for fic for me. Too many RL horrors and dramas to cope with. I hope 2013 will be better. Last year's stats, mostly for my own reference.

Have a happy and safe New Year you all!

2012 really did suck, didn't it? *sigh* At least the Mayans were wrong. That might have been the best thing all year.

Dude, don't tempt fate. There's a whole new year to get through, and if it's any worse than 2012, a Mayan Apocalypse may turn out to have been preferable. :-P

That's true.

But I feel like getting into grad school is overshadowed by my aunt asking for my grandmother, who died almost twenty-four years ago.

I mean, the person I love most in the world is my little sister, and now all I can think about is fifty-five years in the future, when I'm gone and she's alone.

God, now I wanna sob.

Sob if you need to. Often it helps. *hug*
